Our Story
Creating Lasting Change
Youngsters Appeal Foundation began as a vision in the heart of our founder, Nantume Masturah. Motivated by her own experiences and fuelled by a deep sense of empathy, Nantume embarked on a mission to address the pressing issue of period poverty among underprivileged girls in Uganda.

It all started in 2021 when Nantume, then a high school student, initiated a project to tackle period poverty as part of her grade 10 coursework. Witnessing the struggles faced by girls in her community due to lack of access to menstrual products, Nantume was determined to make a difference. Through her dedication and perseverance, she not only completed her project but also laid the foundation for what would become the Youngsters Appeal Foundation.

At Youngsters Appeal, our mission is to empower young women to achieve their full potential and contribute positively to society. We provide support, resources, and opportunities for young women to overcome challenges, develop life skills, and thrive in their communities. From addressing period poverty to offering vocational training, we are dedicated to breaking barriers and building brighter futures for young women.
