Creating Lasting Change
Youngsters Appeal Foundation was born from the vision and determination of its founder, Nantume Masturah. Drawing from her own experiences and driven by a deep sense of empathy, Nantume set out to tackle the pressing issue of period poverty among underprivileged girls in Uganda.
The journey began in 2021 when Nantume, then a high school student, launched a project as part of her grade 10 coursework to address the challenges faced by girls in her community due to a lack of access to menstrual products. Witnessing their struggles firsthand, she became determined to create lasting change. Through her unwavering dedication and perseverance, what started as a school project soon evolved into a larger initiative—laying the foundation for the Youngsters Appeal Foundation, which continues to advocate for menstrual health and support girls in need.
